Bonjour, Maman. Bonjour, Papa. Regardez ce que je fais!!

Translation: Hi Mom. Hi Dad. Look what I made!!

My sister, Diane, tells me that my mother and father are checking this blog everyday. It’s the only way I am keeping in touch with them at the moment. So, everyone, excuse me while I address them personally: Mom & Dad, I love you and I miss you. And will you please hang up my art works on the refrigerator when I get home? Ah, none of us ever really grow up, do we? We forever want mom & dad’s attention and approval.

This blog is mostly art and just a little bit feet. Today we skipped the cleaning out and reorganizing of the house and went straight to the studio. We will have lunch soon (by the way, this is Wednesday – if you are at all like me, this will be new and useful information – then, after lunch, we are going off on a little adventure, which I will report on tomorrow.

Oh, and I haven’t mentioned the weather, which is definitely different than last week. It has turned colder and cloudy, and yesterday it poured down in buckets all day. Today is cloudy, but the sun peaks out occasionally. We are hoping for a couple more sunny days before we leave here.

Enough with the verbal, let’s get on with the visual:

Am I really that short?? My new art apron - a gift from Margaret. She must have inherited it from a very, very tall chef, n'est pas?

Mardi, apres-midi (Tuesday, afternoon). Working hard or hardly working? We did one session in the studio, then a second session after dinner, around 10 p.m.

Definitely working hard!! Can you feel the intensity of our concentration??

Debi's. All the works in this post, by both Margaret and myself, were done on Tuesday and Wednesday, but I can't remember now which was when.

Debi's. Right now I am doing all separate, individual works, all 6"x 6". Soon I will do what I have instructed my Nice Workshop participants to do: I will come up with an overall large project and then do small pieces that will fit into that large work. That might wait till I move on to Lyon next Monday.

Margaret created this work, approximately 6"x 6", and everyone who has seen it so far loves it, including Ken and I. So she has based a series on it - see the works that follow.

This experiment of Debi's done in the U.S. seems to have "walked" itself across the ocean and into Margaret's studio!! Upset, Debi is having difficulty putting her best foot forward.

"Non!" Margaret says, in her flawless French accent, "You GAVE it to me!!" Ah, yes, c'est vrai. I remember now. Margaret, obviously, is having no trouble putting her best foot forward.

Bon Jour Debi et Margaret,
Love seeing what you 2 are up to. My fridge has space Debi if Mom and Dad’s gets too full. Of course I think you will be sold out before you find the airport and fly back home. With no artwork to pack up that is.

Best wishes, Gretchen
